Pattern Sale - Christmas In July Sale in my Etsy Shop

Visit my Etsy shop only for my Annual Christmas In July Pattern Sale!  All patterns are 20% off for the rest of the July.  If you are like me, knitted and crocheted items are under the tree every year for loved ones.  I whip up these little hats every year for new babies arriving in the New Year.

This simple crocheted granny scarf is the perfect gift for all your girlfriends.  Cotton, acrylic or yummy yarns can be used for this great scarf/shawl.

My crocheted Pocket Cowl is a great gift for women or men!  Two skeins of super bulky weight yarn and a few buttons are all you need.

Make a dozen little toys OR pincushions from my Cupcake pattern.  Use up those little balls of yarn and stuff with fiberfil, cotton balls or more of your scrap yarn!
This is perfect on any little munchkin or bigger noggin!  Easily change up the color combo, add a pom pom, tassel or clip on bow.

Don't forget the teacher, secret santa, hairdresser, babysitter or your favorite mail carrier if you like to spread your yarn goodies around!

Best,
Sheila

Itty Bitty Giraffe

Hover over any photo to Pin
or
This has got to be one of the cutest toys I have knitted in my entire 30 years of knitting!  Susan B. Anderson, my favorite knitting goddess, is the designer and she has a wonderful class on Craftsy to teach you how to complete this perfectly delightful giraffe in all its squishy goodness!  Find the class here.  By the way, it's on sale for $9.99...that's 50% off!  The (Not So) Itty Bitty Giraffe.

This would make a great photo prop and it's a perfect summer knitting project.  It is really a simple pattern and Susan has a wonderful way of breaking things down, so it's easy to follow.

From the Craftsy site:
"Susan B. Anderson's adorable knit toys have been featured in magazines, on websites and in her best-selling books, Itty-Bitty Toys, Itty-Bitty Nursery andSpud & Chloe at the Farm. Now knit along with Susan on Craftsy as she shows you how to make this darling giraffe, the most popular project fromItty-Bitty Toys.
Using the included free pattern, you will learn how to pick the perfect yarn and knit in the round on double-pointed needles, using simple increases and decreases to shape the body and head. Along the way, Susan shares toy knitting tips you can use to create a whole menagerie - details like a pompom mane, perky horns, sweet hand-stitched face, and stuffing secrets to make your giraffe perfectly huggable. You'll finish with a soft and sturdy handmade toy to be treasured for a lifetime.
Sign up today for The (Not So) Itty-Bitty Giraffe and knit a new friend for the child in your life - or for yourself! We promise not to tell."
I knitted this myself from her book, Itty Bitty Toys.  It's a large toy perfect for any girl or boy. Take a look again at the top picture and you can see may hand behind the head.  That will give you an idea of the size.  If you follow my blog, you know my daughter is in college, so, in the plastic storage bin it goes awaiting a future grandchild!  How cute would this be in a long run yarn.  True to life browns and creams would be stunning.  Adding the right amount of spots is SO worth it!

Have a great week,
Sheila

Classic Cabled Cowl

If you have not tried cables yet, this pattern is for you! It's simple with this big fat yarn and large needles!  It's so simple, in fact, that you'll wonder why you haven't tried them before.  I am the instructor for the Craftsy Workshop for Classic Cabled Cowl or you can purchase the pattern alone in my Etsy shop.  The workshop is on sale for $7.99 regularly $15.99 and the Etsy pattern is $5.00.

You can whip these up for your family and friends as gifts in one evening! The same pattern will work for women, men and teens and uses just one skein of super bulky yarn!

The lighter yarn colors really show off your cable work!  The buttons really make it extra special.  No buttonholes here!  Just poke the buttons up through the cowl.  I suggest you take your finished cowl to the button store so you can see what it will look like.

If you like the giganto buttons, purchase snaps, as the big buttons won't go through.  I am often asked where I purchase my buttons.  Hancock Fabrics, JoAnn Fabrics are two stores that carry a great selection.  There is a local store here in Omaha, that I like.....Mangelsen's, where I purchase most of them.

This is a great, affordable gift for everyone on your list.  Once you master this simple cable, you can tackle any pattern that uses them!

Go for it!
